Eightieth Weigh-in

Despite the rough weeks I had, I'm down again this week by .8 lbs. Ironically, that's given me a goal that I initially had in mind when I first started Weight Watchers - to lose 75 lbs. I'll freely admit that the only reason why I had that goal in mind was so I could get the 75 lb charm. Yes, I'm a little superficial :)

Since I didn't think I'd be eligible to receive any more stickers or charms, it was quite the shock when my leader presented me with both this morning. You'd think I'd be over the moon with happiness. I am happy, yes. But in a reflective way. It's a nice thing to have but ultimately, it wasn't the big goal. The big goal has already been and gone and this is a sort of happy dénouement to my journey.

Even still, I'm proud to put it on my keychain and to affix what should be the last five pound star to my bookmark.

Seventy-fifth Weigh-in – Lifetime achieved!

Bodies are mysterious things. I went down 2.8 lbs this week despite having eaten an average of 26 points per day. I know if you lose weight, you're suppose to add another point, but I'm going to give it another week just to see. Despite aforementioned surprise at the scale, usually my body takes two to three weeks to adjust.

In other news, I achieved Lifetime status. That's my charm. I kissed it when my leader handed it to me. It was a heady feeling when, at the end of the meeting, my membership was transferred over into Lifetime. I was also given a new weigh-in book and a Lifetime membership card.

It seems surreal that after all this time I no longer have to pay the weekly fee or even go every week. However, I plan on going as much as I can. It's my Saturday morning ritual and I like being accountable to someone.

I promised myself that on the day I achieved Lifetime, I'd do two things: 1) buy a Lululemon hoody and 2) take my wedding rings in to be resized. After my meeting, I did both. The hoody is so well made, so soft, and so cute. I'm really glad I splurged on it. And my rings? They'll be done around the 25th but that's another blogpost in of itself.

Lifetime feels good. No, it feels GREAT.

Sixty-nineth Weigh-in :)

A picture is worth a thousand words...

I lost 3.2 lbs this week, putting me past my goal of 135 lbs and then some.

Goal goal goal goal goal goal omigosh I MADE GOAL!!!!!!!!!

That's me, my goal charm, and a big goofy smile on my face. When I received it at the meeting I couldn't wipe the grin off my face. I thought it likely that I'd cry, but surprisingly, I didn't. I had practiced my speech for a month and I managed to deliver it without nary a sniffle.

After the meeting, I had a nice heart-to-heart with my leader. She has been my rock throughout the whole thing. She's kind, funny, supportive, and personable. She's the kind of leader I wish everyone had. I'm not a huggy person and go out of my way to avoid it, but I freely gave her one. It felt so good to acknowledge the energy and strength she gave me through that one embrace.

When I got out of the meeting, I was so gosh-darned proud you couldn't drag me off the cloud. I called my husband immediately to let him know the good news. He congratulated me and told me to look in the trunk of the car. When I got to the car, I found a bouquet of flowers and a card telling me how proud he was of me. For the first time that day, I started to cry. And then I noticed that he was parked behind me on the scooter. He'd come out to be with me on my special day.

This leads me to my special accolades section. I'll be posting my before and after pics, but I really need to thank a whole lot of people first.

First and foremost, to my husband. I really couldn't have had a better partner in all of this. He has loved me no matter what my size was. He never pushed, never belittled, never suggested that he didn't love me one ounce less. During all my past diet attempts, he always supported me, no matter how crazy the diet I'd chosen was. And when I decided to go on Weight Watchers again, he was by my side. He made me breakfast, he'd hide his treats, if he wanted fast-food he'd have it outside of the house. When I wanted to start exercising, he started, too. I never asked him to do these things. He just did them. Every step of the way he's been with me. Words cannot describe how much I love you, my dear. You are the best friend I've ever had.

Next, to Weight Watchers, my leader, the receptionists, and the meeting members. For just about every Saturday morning for the last year, I've been up bright and early to the meetings. The support, smiles, and inspiration I've received during the weekly meetings are a cornerstone of my success. Weight Watchers has made this whole thing possible.

Last, to my blog readers and to all the gals and guys on the WeightWatchers.ca forums. I love each and every one of you. For reading my blog, giving me props when I was down, supporting me through tough times, cheering me on and even suffering through some of my more long-winded posts. Let's not forget the kicks in the bum. I've received those, too, and though it smarted at the time, it was what I needed most.

Okay, so now that I'm crying like a baby, how about some before and after shots?

Holy fricken wow. I look at those pictures and it's hard to imagine that's what I used to be - 211 lbs at my highest. There was a time when I couldn't remember what it was like to be thin. And now look at me.

It has been one year and four months since I started this journey. To say that it changed my life is an understatement. I am a new person inside and out. As the layers melted away, I found someone worthwhile inside.

Thank you, Weight Watchers. You gave me the tools to take back my life.

Sixty-fourth Weigh-in

I'm down 1.8 lbs this week. With this loss, I've reached a major milestone. My BMI is now within the normal range. I am no longer overweight.

I am no longer overweight!!!!!!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I am so freaking proud of myself right now. This day has been long in coming. Today there is no better number than my BMI. It represents a promise I made to myself not only to lose weight but to become healthy at the same time. Any other weight I lose on the way to goal is just low-point gravy.

I feel like making an appointment with my doctor just so I can dance around in the examination room and high-five her.

I am no longer overweight!!!!!

Sixtieth Weigh-in

See? I knew last week's gain was due to retention. I'm down 3.2 lbs today.

And would you look at that, I have less than 10 lbs to go. I can't tell you how excited I am. Especially because I didn't realize it until I updated my tracker. I have been anxiously anticipating this mini-milestone for a few weeks now and can't believe I missed it at the meeting!

It is such a great feeling to say that, after all this time, I have less than 10 lbs to lose. I still remember when I thought that the first 10 lbs was overwhelming. And now look at me! Lucky socks on feet, almost 60 lbs lost, and less than 10 lbs to go. Awesome!!!!

I hope everyone else has had a fabulous week!

Forty-third Weigh-in

Wow. Well. I don't know how to say it, but here goes: I lost 2.2 lbs this week. This means I've now lost over 50 lbs. And yes, it's in part to being sick this week, but I'll take it. Oh boy oh boy oh boy will I take it!!!

EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

And check out my new WW charm. It's another dumbbell/washer, but copper-coloured this time. It's hard to make out, but it says "50lbs." It's so purdy! I also received another star for my bookmark. That makes 10 of those shiny little guys and I couldn't be prouder of them!

Once I'm feeling better, I'll think of a suitable reward and what my next Italian bracelet charm will be. Right now, I'm too tired to celebrate properly except to say....

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sixteenth Weigh-in - I DID IT!!!

I did it! I achieved my 10% goal!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

I was nervous all week and almost didn't go to weigh-in because I thought I hadn't lost much, if any weight. But would you look at that. I'm down another 1.4 lbs for a total loss of 21.2 lbs. I received my 10% keychain as well as a big round of applause from the meeting members. It was the most wonderful feeling in the world.

I know I couldn't have accomplished all of this without Weight Watchers, the unending support of my husband, the support from the forums and from my blog readers who've posted encouraging comments and suggestions. A big smooshy hearty loving thanks to you all. Mwah!

Now that my 10% is achieved, I'm looking forward to my reward (I may try to get the appointment moved up) and to buying some new underwear. It's a good day :)

Fifteenth Weigh-in, rewards and an NSV

Would you look at that!! I could hardly believe it when I weighed in today. I am down two pounds. Two pounds!! I am .2 of a pound away from getting to my 10% goal. Wow. I'm utterly flabbergasted and jazzed at the same time. I thought it'd be at least till the end of the month until I got this close.

And if that wasn't enough, take a look at my new charm! I received it at my meeting today as a commemoration of my 16-week joining anniversary. I didn't actually count my joining weigh-in when I first started blogging (too depressing!) but yes I've actually been on program for 4 months now! As a reward I bought myself something I've always wanted to get but didn't because it was too much of an indulgence. That's right. A history book. About pirates. Arr. (You think I'm kidding.)

To top it all off, someone else noticed that I had lost weight! My husband's coworker told him that I was looking really great and that she had meant to mention it to him the last time she saw me. Eeeheehee! I'm on cloud nine.

And as an aside, I went to my community rec centre's fitness room today; the first time I've gone to a real-ish gym since becoming overweight. I really wanted to get back on a treadmill again as well as give my new iPod shuffle an inaugural workout. I felt self-conscious at first, but I got right into it and did an hour on the treadmill. The shuffle worked out wonderfully and is absolutely the best present EVAR!

This has been quite the day :)
